Masthead Fundamentals
Masthead is a publishing platform built for simplicity and speed. It’s job is to make you enjoy your writing.
Concepts
Some of the core concepts about what makes Masthead tick will be listed here.
Sites
A site is the overarching entity that contains your content. Sites are isolated, and always belong to a single user. When creating a site via the interface, the site instantly becomes publicly available to the world wide web. This includes search engines.
Pages
A page is an adress within your site. Meaning the moment you create and publish a page, it becomes available in your path. Pages can contain their own meta data that is exposed to the theme.
Posts
Posts are entities that consist of a title with content and tags. Posts are dynamically loaded in via the theme. Posts can be freely queried by themes, allowing them to be extremely versatile.
Uploads
Uploads are files that are stored on the Masthead server. These files can then be used as tokens in themes, or directly on pages or posts. Every upload gets a public URL.
